“Hep’s Rock” is moving at Indiana University’s Memorial Stadium. It’s part of new gameday enhancements the program revealed this week. Former coach Terry Hoeppner brought The Rock and The Walk to the gameday experience in 2005 before his passing from brain cancer in 2007. IU Athletics...
Hopewell update: Bloomington OKs $318K more for demolition, prelim infra design, lighting
Bloomington’s planned new Hopewell neighborhood is supposed to replace the former IU Health hospital at 2nd and Rogers streets and extend to the surrounding area. Based on Monday’s update to Bloomington’s redevelopment commission (RDC) from city controller Jessica McClellan, the project has already expended about $17.8 million of the roughly $28 million in TIF (tax increment finance) revenue that the RDC has committed to the project.

Jeff Baldwin, who has served as executive director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington since 2006, plans to retire from that position “at the stroke of midnight on 12/31 this year,” he said recently in his office on North Monroe Street. But he’s not actually retiring, Baldwin...
Basketball recruiting: Braylon Mullins' stock soaring, more Indiana risers, what's next?
July is a hectic month for high school basketball with three evaluation periods for Division I college coaches to watch high school prospects. The first four-day period ended Sunday with the second coming this week from Friday to Sunday, then a third window from July 23-25 for coaches to evaluate only at the NCAA College Basketball Academy events. ...
Hoosier Huddle's College Football '25 Simulation of IUFB's 2024 Season was a Roller Coaster Ride
Written and Simulated by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle) The day is finally here! After a decade without a college football video game, EA Sports released the new College Football 25 Game (buy here) on Monday. This article will follow a simulation of Indiana Football’s 2024 season. We did not adjust any ratings. It is in no way a prediction of anything real and is just some good old-fashioned fun on an exciting day.

Indiana DNR Accepting Applications for Shooting Range Grants
The DNR Shooting Range Grant Program is accepting applications for the development of rifle, handgun, shotgun firing, and archery opportunities for public use. While growing up in southern Indiana, I always looked forward to trips to the shooting range. I started out at just seven years old with a simple single shot .22 rifle, before making my way up to a 12-gauge shotgun around the age of 11. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to fire a few different handguns. The hobby has stuck with me through the years, and I've since become fascinated with old military surplus rifles. I still make regular trips to the shooting range today.
'No time for wimpy Republicans,' Indiana's Jim Banks tells RNC
MILWAUKEE ― By the time U.S. Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana took the stage during a prime-time slot at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday ― also his 45th birthday ― the audience's energy was starting to wear a little thin. But the Indiana delegation was with the Columbia City resident on every word as he sang former President Donald Trump's praises and said President Joe Biden has been "an embarrassment." ...
Anheuser-Busch Donates Drinking Water to Indiana Fire Department
An effort to get more cans of emergency drinking water to local fire departments is underway, thanks to Anheuser-Busch and the National Volunteer Fire Council. Emergency preparedness is something we hear a lot about, particularly around September during National Preparedness Month. The public service announcements and alerts used to roll right over my head, but now, as a married man with a house and several animals, it's something I keep in mind a little more these days. Disasters can happen at any time, as was clearly seen earlier this week when multiple weather hazards hit the area. If you ask me, preparing for disaster is not only an individual responsibility but also a community responsibility.
