Child Saved From Hot Car In The Nick Of Time
As another heat wave passes through the tri-state area, more heartbreaking stories of children being left in cars are being reported. Earlier this week the Jewish community was heartbroken to hear that a young child in Lakewood passed after being left in a hot car. Falconer Man Sentenced in Arson Fire in Kennedy
A Falconer man has been sentenced for setting a fire that destroyed two houses in Kennedy. Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced that 30-year old Aubrey Baize was sentenced Monday in Chautauqua County Court to a state prison sentence of four to 12 years after being convicted of Third Degree Arson.
Fredonia Fire Department to Receive AFG Funding
A fire department in the north county has been named as one of 16 New York State recipients of funding through a federal firefighter grant program. Senator Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced Monday that the Fredonia Fire Department will receive $71,094.90 through FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG). The program provides funding that's used for protective gear, training, and providing supplies to emergency personnel.

Two-vehicle accident spills oil along Crawford Co. state highway
(WJET/WFXP)– Pennsylvania State Police in Corry were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident earlier this month that left oil spilled on the roadway. The accident took place back on July 9 around 5:43 a.m. along State Highway 27 near an unnamed road with state police releasing the report on July 15.

Cosmic Cowboys to Open Music at the Point Sunset Concert Series
After getting postponed last week, the City of Dunkirk is set to host its first Music at the Point Sunset Concert Series performance of the season on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM. Playing at Point Gratiot will be the Cosmic Cowboys, who have been playing in the area since 2010. They consist of Dan Raynor (vocals, guitar), Jerry Waite (guitar) and Corky Gloff (bass, vocals). They cover mostly classic rock with a few outlaw country songs thrown in the mix. Some of the music you might catch them playing will include Eric Clapton, John Cougar Mellencamp, Steve Earle, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and other crowd favorites.
