Sinclairville Woman Charged with Arson in July House Fire
A Sinclairville woman has been charged with 3rd-degree arson for allegedly setting fire to a residence in the village on July 23rd. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office announced Monday afternoon that 53-year-old Vicki Rumsey turned herself in on a warrant. Firefighters from six area departments battled the fully involved fire at 38 East Avenue. Preliminary findings by the Sheriff's Office Fire Investigation Team suggested that the fire was suspicious in nature. Further investigation found that Rumsey allegedly intentionally set the house on fire, causing heavy damage. She will be arraigned on the charge at the Chautauqua County Jail.

The City of Dunkirk Men's Fastpitch softball league concluded on Monday after Lackawanna defeated G&E Tents by scores of 10-0 and 9-1 in the best-of-three championship series. Lackawanna finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record. The city thanked the league's three other teams -- Lakeside Club, Monnies and Can Kings -- for their participation.
