Jamestown Police Nab City Man for Possessing Loaded Pistol, Methamphetamine
A traffic stop on Jamestown's south side Thursday evening led to weapon and drug charges for a city man. Jamestown Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Camp Street and May Street for an observed infraction at about 9:30 PM and saw drug paraphernalia in plain view. Officers completed a search of the vehicle and determined that 40-year-old Daniel Hallowell was allegedly in possession of a loaded semi-automatic pistol without a valid permit, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine. Hallowell was charged with 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

Jamestown Man Convicted in Federal Drug Case
A federal jury has found a Jamestown man guilty of drug charges that resulted from a February 2023 traffic stop in the city. U.S. Attorney Trini Ross announced Thursday that 39-year-old Jose Caceres, Jr. was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of MDMA, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and maintaining a drug-involved premises. The verdict was the result of an investigation by the U.S. Probation Office, Jamestown Police Department, and DEA.
Fredonia Duo Charged in Stockton Burglary Probe
Two Fredonia men have been charged after an investigation into a burglary in progress Thursday afternoon in the Town of Stockton. Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office investigators were notified about the incident on Moon Road at about 12:30 PM. A Sheriff's Office K-9 unit arrived on scene and located two people stealing property. The suspects, 43-year-old Derek Saxton and 51-year-old Donald Tolbert, were both taken into custody and charged with 3rd-degree burglary and 4th-degree grand larceny. Saxton and Tolbert were both arraigned at the Chautauqua County Jail's centralized arraignment.
