Salem, Virginia – Roanoke County’s public safety agencies are excited to invite the community to a Summer Field Day on Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Green Hill Park in Salem. This free, family-friendly event offers a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy a day of fun activities and connect with local public safety staff.
Boil Water Notice: PSA Customers in Riner
Update: July 19, 2024, 9:30 a.m. - The boil water notice is still in effect for PSA customers in Riner. Due to the dry weather conditions our community has been experiencing, the water table levels have been dropping, causing dirt to enter the water in the existing well systems operated by the PSA.
Boil Water Notice placed in section of the City of Radford
RADFORD, Va. (WFXR)– The Virginia Department of Health has placed residents in the City of Radford west of Wadsworth Street under a boil water notice. According to the city, personnel are currently working to repair a water main break near Oakland Ave, Forest Ave, and Second Street. The City says because of the break, water customers west of Wadsworth Street and those who are experiencing low water pressure or loss of water, are encouraged to boil their water before consumption use.

The 12th annual Local Programs Workshop will be held at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center on September 17 – 19, 2024. This workshop provides an overview of local programs and training for program management and project development for locally administered projects. This annual event brings together roughly 600 local administered project stakeholders comprised of local governments, state and federal government, and private sector consultants. In addition to two plenary sessions, the workshop will feature 20 breakout sessions in five concurrent tracks, over the two-day workshop.
