Chicken restaurant set to open in Vinton
VINTON, Va. (WDBJ) - A fast-casual chicken restaurant will open Saturday in Vinton. HCK Hot Chicken, according to a news release, is a franchise “known for its fiery Nashville-style cuisine and distinctive premium sauces.” Its first outlet in southwest Virginia opens July 20 at 2499 East Washington Avenue, with a grand opening event running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Virginia Tech Men's Basketball announces 2024-2025 non-conference schedule
Get ready to start jumping for Virginia Tech Men's Basketball as the first 11 games of the season have been announced. The non-conference schedule consists of seven home matchups and four neutral site games. To kick off their 117th season Virginia Tech will look to defend the Cassell as they face Delaware State in their quest to make their record against them a perfect 4-0, on November 4th. They'll then have the next two matchups at home, facing USC Upstate on November 8th and Winthrop on November 11th. Then it's off to Baltimore for the Hall of Fame series at CFG Bank Arena as Mike Young and the Hokies face Penn State on November 15th.
