MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports a deceased body was found in the North Fork River on Saturday, July 20. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies, along with personnel from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, and the Elliston Fire Department responded to reports of a body found in the river near Cannery Road in Elliston. The body was retrieved from the water, and the investigation showed the deceased had been in the water for an undetermined amount of time.

10 displaced after vehicle ‘rolls’ into apartment building on Electric Road
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– Roanoke County Fire and Rescue reported a vehicle rolled into a building on Electric Road during the afternoon of Saturday, July 20. According to the fire department, crews responded at 3:57 p.m. to the 4300 block of Electric Rd on a report of a vehicle into a building. Units arrived to find a wall collapsed in an apartment building, and the vehicle had already been moved.

Businesses offering help to Rescue Mission in Roanoke for the homeless
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Skolrood Law Firm and Gentle Shepherd Hospice have committed to donating up to $230,000 to the Roanoke Rescue Mission. This will be a matching gift, meaning the mission will need to come up with the same amount through its donors. The money will be used for shelter, clothing, food, and more to assist the homeless.
