    EOP to receive over $4M for Head Start programs in the area

    ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The Elmira Economic Opportunity Program, Inc. will be receiving over $4 million in funds to support its Head Start programs, as announced by Congressman Nick Langworthy.

    On Thursday, June 27, Congressman Langworthy announced that the EOP will be receiving a new tax-funded grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources. The grant totals $4,065,726, which will support Head Start and Early Head Start programs in the area.

    Southern Tier school districts receive funds for improvement projects

    According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Head Start programs assist in the growth of children from birth to age 5. The services provided through these programs center around early learning and development, health and family well-being.
