ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A new food pantry will open at CASA-Trinity’s outpatient clinic in Elmira on Thursday.

Dutch’s Pantry will open at the clinic on 911 Stowell St. in Elmira on Thursday, Aug. 1. The pantry will serve people who are seeking services from the clinic by keeping a stock of various foods and goods, as well as providing resources for eating healthy and ways to prepare meals.

The opening of Dutch’s Pantry comes after receiving a start-up grant from the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. The pantry is named after the father of CASA-Trinity’s CEO, Ann Domingos, who was known in the community for providing food and helping those in need.

CASA-Trinity’s hope for the pantry is to give its clients better access to nutritious foods to enhance their overall wellness, not just the disease they are treating.
