18 Sports Plays of the Week – 07/30

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The 18 Sports Plays of the Week is back with more great highlights in local sports.

The 18 Sports team showcases the top plays from the past week in the Twin Tiers. This week’s top honors include one massive home run and 4 web gems on the diamond. This week’s list begins in the NYCBL Playoffs. Devin Mersmann and Brody Langlotz each pulled off incredible diving catches for the Hornell Steamers.

In the PGCBL, the Elmira Pioneers were represented well. Calvin Warrilow crushed a 2-run homer against Auburn, while Cooper Smith returned to Plays of the Week with a catch of the year candidate.

This week’s list also expanded to the the softball diamond. Horseheads grad Rosie Monks shut down a potential base hit, with an outstanding catch in the Missy Love Memorial Tournament.
