Wilmington Mountain Music Fest, the Brandon Carnival, and more events happening in Vermont and New York this weekend
The third annual Cabot Arts and Music Festival is taking place Saturday. The event takes place on main street starting at noon and running until 10 at night. The multi-genre festival includes 12 bands on four stages, dances, food trucks, kids' activities, craft vendors, and a community art project! Tickets are $50 dollars at the gate for adults, and kids under 16 get in for free so long as they're accompanied by an adult.

Allen) At the Governor’s weekly press conference, state leaders shared that a decision on a FEMA disaster declaration is expected by the end of this week. If Vermont qualifies for individual FEMA assistance, impacted Vermonters will need to submit their information to FEMA, in addition to 211. Vermonters are encouraged to prepare their documentation in advance. Resources are available at the State Floor Recovery Centers to assist with this and we will communicate the availability of assistance if, and when, FEMA makes a decision.

Vermont opened its first recovery office for flood victims today in Plainfield. State officials are standing up four such offices this week in communities hardest-hit by July's flooding. The remnants of Hurricane Beryl wrought widespread damage across central and northern Vermont earlier this month, damaging over 2,000 homes, washing out roads and killing two men.
