The officer at the scene was told by residents in the area that a home on Longford Avenue was where the fireworks were being set off two nights in a row.

The officer spoke with the man who violated the Elyria fireworks ordinance, who admitted to setting them off. The man, Kevin Mcie, told police he was done for the night and had no other fireworks left.

Mcie was told about the city’s zero tolerance for fireworks and was issued a criminal citation. He was advised of his mandatory court appearance on July 10 at 10 a.m., according to the release.
