NOAA Recommends Nearly $220 Million in Funding for Transformational Habitat Restoration and Coastal Resilience Projects
NOAA is recommending nearly $220 million in funding for 32 transformational habitat restoration and coastal resilience projects this year, as well as an additional $66 million in funding in future years. The projects are funded under the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act. This is a historic investment in strengthening the climate resilience of our nation’s coastal ecosystems and communities.

JULY 18, 2024 — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels conducted their inaugural test and certification of the Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS) at Camp Grayling Army Airfield on June 26, 2024 in preparation for their performance at the National Cherry Festival Air Show in Traverse City, which took place on June 29-30, 2024. The MAAS was specifically brought to Camp Grayling to support the Blue Angels for this event.

CROSS VILLAGE — A two-car accident on Saturday left six people injured near the Blissfest grounds, according to a press release from the Emmet County Sheriff's Office. At approximately 6:23 p.m. on July 13, the Emmet County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident at the intersection of State and Division roads in Cross Village Township. The intersection is about two and a half miles away from the Blissfest grounds, where the annual summer music festival was taking place.

MSU, UM form ‘unprecedented’ joint venture to grow neurological care in mid-Michigan
University of Michigan Health and Michigan State University Health Care plan to expand neurological care in the Lansing area and mid-Michigan through a new joint venture. The two formed the Neuro Care Network to partner on inpatient and outpatient care for patients with neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s and dementia or who have suffered a stroke. The partnership includes inpatient and outpatient neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostic and infusion services.
Cold case reopened by MPS out of northern Michigan

Announcing the investigation on social media, the Michigan State Police's Seventh District said they were looking at the disappearance of Cassandra Durham, a Maryland woman who had left the state with her boyfriend in 1987.
