WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Highway Patrol says a second person has died as a result of a crash near Emporia Saturday afternoon.

According to a KHP crash log, at 3:10 p.m., a 44-year-old man from Wichita was driving a 2021 Kia Telluride southbound on Interstate 335, just north of Emporia.

With him was 42-year-old Erin Moreno from Wichita and Anthony Barrera, a juvenile whose exact age is unknown. There were also three other juveniles in the vehicle whose identity have been protected.

The KHP says that while the Telluride was headed south, it rear-ended a 2015 International Semi that was hauling a trailer. The Telluride spun out and came to a stop.
