Nebraska State Patrol readies up for busy Labor Day weekend
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska State Patrol troopers are readying up for busy roadways as the summer travel season comes to a close with Labor Day Weekend. “This weekend will be busy on Nebraska roads with the start of Husker football, the final weekend of the State Fair, and Labor Day weekend,” said Col. John Bolduc, NSP superintendent. “As we close out the summer travel season, let’s work together to make this a safe weekend on the roads so that everyone reaches their destinations safely.”

Football Recap: Tri County Northeast Starts Season with Loss at Home
Tri County Northeast couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers at home by a 34-20 margin on Friday. Tri County Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Jorgensen, who rushed for 62 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 42 yards and a touchdown. Brayden McCorkindale was in the mix too, providing Tri County Northeast with two touchdowns touchdowns.

No. 2 Huskers Grind Out 3-1 Win over TCU
No. 2 Nebraska won its third match in five days on Saturday night, taking down TCU 3-1 to finish 2-0 in the Ameritas Players Challenge. The Huskers beat the Horned Frogs 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13 at the Devaney Center, though Nebraska hit a season-low .213 and allowed the Horned Frogs to hit .168, a higher percentage than the Huskers allowed to a top-10 team in Kentucky.
