ENDICOTT, N.Y. ( WIVT/WBGH ) — A local coffee shop celebrated its new home today.

Cup O’ Jo Cafe on the Northside of Endicott held a grand opening ribbon cutting.

It’s open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, serving Finger Lakes coffee, gourmet melts, and homemade pastries and soups.

The shop operates out of what was once a karate dojo.

The newly renovated space includes indoor and outdoor seating, a play area for kids, and a charging station.

This is Cup O’ Jo’s second store, the first being in Ithaca.

The local branch was originally located in the Oakdale Commons.

Owner Naomi Bernheim named the business in memory of her sister, Jo, who had been an avid coffee drinker.

“I’m just excited to be part of Endicott and I’m excited to meet the people that I have already and to build friendships,” says Naomi Bernheim, owner and operator of Cup O’ Jo. “This is where I go to hang out and I would love to have them come hang out with me. So, it’s fun. And like I said this is my getaway from home and business, so it’s exciting.”

Bernheim says every customer is family, which explains why patrons from the Ithaca branch stopped down to celebrate today.

    Cup O’ Jo is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekends until 8 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
