ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Emergency crews were dispatched to an Endicott home early Tuesday morning for a front porch fire that spread throughout the entire house.

On July 23, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Endicott Fire Department was dispatched to 106 South Naticoke Avenue for a reported porch fire with subjects possibly still in the building. Endicott Police arrived at the scene and confirmed the fire, reporting that there were people on the back roof of the home. Endicott Police Patrols used dry chemical fire extinguishers to attempt to extinguish the fire and were successful in controlling it until fire units arrived.

Fire crews responded immediately, and off duty crews were requested while enroute. After crews arrived, it was determined that the fire had made its way into the second floor and attic. A second alarm was requested.

Mutual aid crews arrived to assist with the fire. Primary and secondary searches of the entire building were conducted to confirm all occupants were out of the residence. Crews opened walls and ceilings on all three levels to find and extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported. The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The fire was determined to have started on the front porch. It is currently under investigation by the Endicott Fire Department.
