ENGLEWOOD, Colo. ( KDVR ) — An Englewood brother and sister are continuing to recover at a local hospital after a near-deadly crash on Monday.

The parents of Dane and Christina Quintana said the siblings were passengers in a vehicle that crashed early Monday morning on southbound Interstate 25, near 8th Avenue.

Two other teens were inside the vehicle. One of them also required medical attention.

“This is a parent’s worst nightmare,” said Dana Quintana, the teens’ father.

Quintana said 18-year-old Dane suffered brain trauma and faces facial reconstruction. Sixteen-year-old Christina suffered a fractured spine. Both teens are eventually expected to make full recoveries, but it could take months.

As of Tuesday night, they were still at Denver Health Medical Center.

“We came here together, we’re walking out of here together,” said the teens’ dad.

Dane is a student and basketball player at Englewood High School, while Christina is a student at Heritage High School.

“I love my kids and I’m just thankful they’re here and we have another day with them,” said the teens’ mother, Jaime Sanchez.
