Pets of the WEEK

• Thelma and Louise are 1½ -year-old Catahoula sisters. They have been blind since birth, so they are not aware of their disability. Thelma and Louise are normal dogs that love people, cats and going for a walk. Their ears and noses make up for their lack of eyesight. Thelma and Louise will bark when someone approaches the door. They are wonderful companions that love hugs and kisses. Thelma and Louise do not have to be adopted together. Another dog in the house would be a good friend.

• Alexander, who was rescued about seven months ago from a home that was used for unspeakable things. He was brought in weighing 13 pounds — when he should have weighed 30. An amazing foster took Alexander in, and he started gaining weight. As time passed, he had to start wearing braces on his front legs in order to walk normally. Alexander was later adopted by a volunteer who works at the shelter, but it became too much to handle. Now, he does not get along with others and protects his food (as though unsure he will get any more). Alexander loves people and shows his love with kisses and jumps. He is waiting for the person who can accept him with all his flaws.

• Suzie, a young feline with a heart full of love. Her sweetness shines through in her interactions, and her gentle purrs are a testament to her friendly nature. Suzie has a knack for making friends, and her charming demeanor captivates all who cross her path. Adopting her means welcoming a bundle of love and joy into your life, a companion who will fill your days with warmth and your nights with peaceful purrs.
