Did you know the Englewood Chamber has been around as long as the Fourth of July?

The Fourth of July was made a federal holiday in 1941, the same year your chamber was incorporated.

The Englewood Chamber represents free enterprise and embraces the independence afforded to us each and every day.

We would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July and look forward to seeing the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Presents “Light Up Lemon Bay” Fourth of July fireworks.

The fireworks display will take place at approximately 9 p.m. on July 4 on the bayside of Middle Beach. You will be able to see the display for miles around. The Chamber office will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of Independence Day.

    VIP FIREWORKS TICKETS

Watch the Fireworks in comfort this July 4. To help pay for the fireworks, Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary has a VIP viewing area for the fireworks at Blind Pass Beach. The VIP tickets include preferred parking, premier viewing of the firework display, all you can eat and drink, live band, and an enclosed, bug free, air-conditioned tent. You can purchase your tickets at the Englewood Chamber, 601 S. Indiana Ave.

    SUPPORT A VETERAN

The public is invited to attend and show their support and gratitude to a veteran with no family.

The Veteran, Brian Darling, served in the U.S .Marine Corps from 1976-79, and has no family.

At 11 a.m. July 10,a solemn ceremony that underscores the dignity and respect owed to all those who served, will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota.

EPIC Community Resource Center’s Vice President Randy Smith, a dedicated Veterans Case Manager, will officiate the internment.

    SECURE ENGLEWOOD

Attention business owners and residents: If you have security cameras, register them with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

This does not give the Sheriff’s Office access to your cameras. This just creates a registry. If an incident were to occur, they can go to the registry to see who has cameras in the area. They would contact participating individuals to see if cameras captured anything related to the investigation.

Visit ConnectCharlotteCounty.org to register your cameras.
