The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce serves as a vital bridge between local businesses, government entities, residents and visitors, fostering a robust environment for economic growth and community development.

Through our networking events, seminars, and advocacy efforts, the Chamber creates opportunities for businesses to connect, collaborate, and thrive.

It serves as a unified voice for businesses, advocating for policies that support entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development.

Moreover, the chamber plays a crucial role in protecting our unique community and strengthening our assets.

By facilitating partnerships and providing resources, the Chamber of Commerce contributes significantly to the economic vitality and overall well-being of our community, ensuring a prosperous future for all stakeholders involved.

    ADVOCACY

Your chamber is here to advocate for you. We have a few items we are working on. One is working with the Florida Department of Transportation to amend one of their plans. FDOT was planning on adding medians along State Road 776 from the Charlotte County line to Tangerine Woods.

However, their plans would block off access to every business along the corridor.

Therefore, the chamber reached out to Sen. Albritton who connected us with FDOT and we started meeting to make changes to the plans.

FDOT is scheduled to provide us with an updated plan toward the end of the month.

We also have a meeting planned with both Sarasota County and Charlotte County officials to discuss increased access to our waterways. With all the new people moving here and construction on some of our local marinas, dock space is getting harder and harder to come by. Due to such demand, the price of dock space keeps increasing.

At some point, our local fishing captains, tour boats and other boat operators will have no place to dock their boats and will be forced to move to another area of the state or go out of business.

That would be detrimental to our economy and quality of life. We will be meeting to discuss our options as well as create a plan to move forward.

    BIZ@NOON

Join us for our monthly Biz@Noon Wednesday. This month’s host is the Ken & Brab’s Grove City Kitchen, 3000 Oyster Creek Drive.

This is your opportunity to stand up in front of approximately 50 attendees to showcase your business, sales, events and anything you’d like to get the word out about.

You will have your choice of a Turkey Club Sandwich, Cuban Sandwich, Cod Sandwich (fried or grilled) or Veggies.

For planning purposes, registration is required. You can register online at EnglewoodChamber.com

    SUPPORT FALLEN HEROES

In the wake of the 4th of July festivities, it is important to remember the sacrifices made for our freedom.

Call or stop by the Englewood Chamber to reserve your kit to honor the 13 lives lost in Afghanistan.

Operation Solid 7 is putting these kits together. The kids contain 13 easy step-in posts proudly featuring the picture and name of the lives lost on Aug. 26, 2021, along with a flag on top. We want to line the roadways with these flags. Anyone can participate, especially businesses.

    SECURE ENGLEWOOD

Attention business owners and residents: If you have security cameras, register them with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

This does not give the Sheriff’s Office access to your cameras. This just creates a registry.

If an incident were to occur, they can go to the registry to see who has cameras in the area.

They would contact participating individuals to see if cameras captured anything related to the investigation.

Visit ConnectCharlotteCounty.org to register your cameras.
