    Hello (201) readers!

It’s editor-in-chief Liz Johnson here with some great news that I couldn’t be more thrilled to share: The Englewood Night Market is back.

But before I get into all the things I want to share about it, let me start with this: It has been rescheduled to its rain date, July 18. Not even going to tell you the original date in case it confuses you. Just know: You’re going to want to go to downtown Englewood on Thursday night.

Why? Sponsored by Englewood Health, the market is bigger than ever, and it’s celebrating the City of Englewood’s 125th anniversary.

It’s been a while since the market was held, pre-COVID, even, and there's been a change in the organizers — it used to be North Jersey Media Group, now it’s T.H. Events.

T.H. Irwin, the owner and founder, has lined up a great set of activities, an interesting mix of vendors and a delicious lineup of food and drinks!

Being a former food editor myself, my favorite part of the market is wandering along the street and choosing a few select bites to try — sharing with my friends of course.

I asked a couple of other (201) staffers what their favorite thing about the market is, and here’s what they said:

“Englewood night market is a quintessential summer night celebrating community, good food and good people in beautiful Englewood,” Rebecca Cardenas, Key Account Executive of Local IQ told me. “ It’s a way for people to come together in their community to enjoy music, food, and gathering with neighbors.”

And John Flynn, Creative Director of (201) said: ‘The Englewood Night Market has this great energy! It really feels festive and exciting in a way that other block parties or street fairs can compare.”

I couldn’t agree more! Here’s our story about the Englewood Night Market, and the schedule of entertainment is below. All performances will be on the main stage on Van Brunt Street.

    See you there on Thursday!

5:00 to 5:20 pm: Wizard of Oz – Preview of the BergenPAC Performing Arts School Summer Musical. Tickets for the show will be available for sale at the market as well.

5:25 to 5:45 pm: Hip Hop Dance – BergenPAC Performing Arts School Tribute to 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop Culture.

5:55 to 6:20 pm: PAS Faculty Jazz Band – BergenPAC Performing Jazz music written and made famous by Englewood residents such as Tony Bennett, Dizzy Gillespie and Wilson Pickett.

6:45 to 7:45 pm: The Steve Johnson Band Performing 80’s Dance Hits.

8:15 to 9:15 pm: Soulsa Performing Latin Inspired and Modern Rock.

9:30 to 10:30 pm: The Awesome Two DJ Tribute to the 50th Birthday Celebration of Hip Hop and to Englewoods own Sylvia Robinson, and Sugar Hill Studios.

And don't forget to take a walk through time and some of the history of the City of Englewood as documented by The Record at the (201) Magazine and NorthJersey.com tent. Be sure to take a photo at the interactive photo booth.

Below, you'll find other stories from my colleagues that celebrate the best of Bergen fashion, beauty, food and lifestyle news. Enjoy.

    See you soon!
