    Alabama man arrested in Florida hotel facing trafficking charges

    BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of an Alabama man facing drug charges for trafficking in fentanyl and methamphetamine.

    According to authorities, on July 2, 2024, BCSO’s Special Investigations Division served a warrant at a hotel at 5126 W. Highway 98 after investigators found there was illegal narcotics activity.

    When officers searched the hotel room they found Jeremy Castiel Burness, 32, of Enterprise, Alabama, to be in possession of a trafficking amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

    Burness, who is a convicted felon, was also in possession of a pistol.

    Burnette was arrested for the offenses of trafficking fentanyl (more than 4 grams but less than 14 grams), trafficking in methamphetamine (more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams), felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bay County Sheriff’s Office said.

    Burnette is in the Bay County Jail and is being held on a $166,000 bond.
