The three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback "forgot" to wear pants during Kansas City Chiefs training camp. On Wednesday, the NFL team shared a video of the hilarious moment on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) , with Patrick, 28, and his wife of two years , Brittany Mahomes , 28, both poking fun at the clip on their respective Instagram Stories.
"Oh dude, I didn't put my pants on!" Patrick says in the clip after looking down and realizing he failed to put padded pants on under his practice uniform. He asked his teammates, "You think anyone notices?"
After wandering aimlessly, Patrick admits, "Um … I forgot my pants pads," before joking, "Maybe they'll think my quads are so big that they look like pants." But no one is convinced. So, the Chiefs player eventually goes off to change, saying, "I look like an idiot now, dude."
Patrick shared the video to his Instagram Story alongside a series of laughing emojis, while pregnant wife Brittany posted the clip to her own Instagram Story, writing, "Sorry I'm not there to dress you 😂 @patrickmahomes."
Brittany Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes arrive on the red carpet prior to the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Ring Ceremony at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on June 13 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The quip is a reference to a well-known exchange among listeners of Jason and Travis Kelce 's New Heights podcast , in which Travis roasted his older brother for relying on Kylie to pack his clothes for an outing. "Why didn't Jason bring jeans for Jason?" Travis famously quipped on the podcast after learning that Jason arrived on the red carpet for his Kelce documentary premiere in shorts and flip flops because "Kylie was going to bring the jeans" and "Kylie was late."
