Between June 28-30, two weeks after the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County adopted out over 220 animals during a capacity crisis, the shelter welcomed 121 animals in need. Among them was Blaze, a dog who was thrown from a moving vehicle on SR-509 in Tacoma.

Petco Love Urges Pet Parents to Register Their Cats and Dogs on Love Lost Ahead of July 4th Holiday

National nonprofit Petco Love urges people who lose or find a pet to use Love Lost, its national lost and found pet database, to reunite those pets with the families that love them, including in Pierce County. More pets go missing July 4th than any other day often ending up at already overwhelmed and crowded animal shelters across the country. Pet parents can register their cats and dogs on Love Lost today while their pets are safe at home and in case the unthinkable happens and their pet goes missing tomorrow.

Tacoma’s late night scene added a combination restaurant and nightclub this year with the opening of Manuscript and Dialogue. “The name comes from being close to the Theater District. Manuscript is like a story being told,” owner and operator of Manuscript and Dialogue, Eda Johnson, said. “It also kind of has a dual meaning in like, ‘This is the standard of how we feel like a business in this area should operate.’”
Revving Up for a Good Time at LeMay’s Annual Cars and Cigars Event
Tacoma's LeMay — America’s Car Museum is bringing the heat this August with its annual summer event, Cars and Cigars, which has a “Neon Nights” theme this year. The event takes place from 6-11 p.m. on Aug. 3 on the museum’s front plaza and will feature food from Jònz Catering, dancing, tastings from local vendors, cocktails by Heritage Distilling, and, of course, enough cigars to go around (and then some).

Sea-Tac Airport celebrates 75 years
