NOCO Humane Waving Adoption Fees To Address Overcrowding
Last month, more than 900 animals arrived at NOCO Humane campuses and, in response, they’re waving pet adoption fees for all animals at both Larimer and Weld shelter campuses to address overcrowding. The Greeley Tribune reports nearly 400 of those animals, including 154 dogs, 172 cats and 60 critters found new homes in four weeks, but 462 unhoused animals still require care under NOCO Humane’s roofs. In addition, the Weld campus struggles with staffing shortages and spikes in illnesses due to a lack of physical space.
Wallet found on beach leads to discovery of bodies at bottom of Greeley pond
Greeley police and the coroner's office are investigating two drownings at Poudre Ponds in northern Greeley. The two men, ages 21 and 23, were found submerged in water last Thursday morning. According to the Greeley Police Department, the investigation began after a bystander found personal items on the beach on June 27.Clothes, a wallet, and a phone were found in the sand of Poudre Ponds. The bystander notified law enforcement who began their investigation. They also located an unattended vehicle in the parking lot. The Boulder Police Department is asking the public for help amid an indecent exposure and possible burglary investigation that involves a suspect potentially targeting local college-aged women.
