The Erie Sports Commission is hosting two different golf events this weekend, the annual Bay Frog Open and the Professional Disc Golf Association sanctioned Mid-Summer Classic. Erie Spins Combined No-Hitter to Snap Binghamton’s 10-Game Win Streak
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (12-7, 47-39) fell to the Erie SeaWolves, 3-0, in a combined no-hitter on Saturday night at Mirabito Stadium. Erie (12-8, 49-37) used four pitchers – Jackson Jobe, Jake Higginbotham, Matt Seelinger, and Garrett Hill – who threw the fifth no-hitter in franchise history. It marked Erie’s first no-hitter since Casey Mize’s at Altoona on April 29, 2019.

Rumble Ponies Winning Streak Snapped As Erie Throws No-Hitter
The Rumble Ponies 10 game winning streak came to an end on Saturday night as Erie would throw a no-hitter and take a 3-0 win at Mirabito Stadium. Erie would get on the board early as Gage Workmen would get on base with a single before stealing second and then eventually scoring off of a throwing error from third baseman Jaylen Palmer off of the hit by Jake Holton.
Rumble Ponies Drop Series Finale Against Erie
The Rumble Ponies would make it back to back losses against the SeaWolves after being dealt a 6-3 loss on Sunday afternoon at Mirabito Stadium. Erie would get on the board in the third inning on three separate occasions and three separate ways. Starting off Julio Rodriguez would score off of a wild pitch to get the SeaWolves on the board before a sacrifice fly and ground out would put up two more runs.

A 2-run walk-off homer by Matt Rudick would give Binghamton their 10th straight win in a 6-4 victory over Erie in the Rumble Ponies first game back at Mirabito since July 3. The first inning would feature both teams getting on the board. Erie would start with Jake Holton smacking an RBI single to get the Sea Wolves on the board before Ryan Clifford homered his 13th on the year to tie it at 1-1.
