The future of American surfing was on full display in Brazil last week as teen phenoms Caity Simmers and Sawyer Lindblad stormed the podium at the VIVO Rio Pro. Simmers, who hails from nearby Oceanside, took top honors, her third first-place finish of the 2024 Championship Tour season, while San Clemente’s Sawyer Lindblad earned her second runner-up finish of the season. No strangers to seeing each other in the heat of battle, both young women are only 18 years old and have been competing against one another most of their lives.

Summer League: Scripps Ranch 46, Escondido Charter 39
San Diego (KUSI)- Summer League hoops at Maranatha Christian High School with Escondido Charter dribbling against Scripps Ranch. Falcons win a very competitive game on Wednesday afternoon 46-39. They played again right after that game against Rancho Bernardo, but lost that game against the Broncos 58-43.
