    Man arrives at hospital with stab wounds after police respond to calls for group fight

    ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man is in critical condition after arriving at a North County hospital with stab wounds Saturday afternoon following a group fight in Escondido, police say.

    Escondido Police Dispatch received a 911 call at 1:42 p.m. Saturday for a group fight in the 300 block of W. El Norte Pkwy in Escondido, the Escondido Police Department reports. When officers arrived at the location, police say there was no one at the scene.

    However, just 15 minutes later, police were notified by the Palomar Medical Center that a man with stab wounds arrived in the emergency room. According to police, the man, who has not been identified, is in critical condition.

    Officers at the hospital were able to determine the victim’s injuries were related to the group fight. Police say nobody is in custody and there is no suspect description available at this time.

    Escondido Police Detectives are investigating the possibility of this being gang-related.
