Letter to the editor: Our flag
The flag of the United States of America represents HOPE: freedom from tyranny and pursuing the Preamble of our Constitution. The Preamble is the mission of our country – what we are trying to achieve; what we aspire to be. The Articles and Amendments form the organizational framework for achieving the Preamble (and they sometimes need adjusting – or even extinguishing – to maintain alignment with achieving the Preamble). When you see the flag, let’s remember what that hope represents and those who have fought and those who continue the fight to protect it. Let’s do our part to keep that hope alive and well.
