This Air Force Academy Hotel Includes a Flight Simulator
Opening this fall in Colorado Springs, the Hotel Polaris is taking a few cues from the institution it’s situated beside — namely, the U.S. Air Force Academy. A glimpse at the photos and renderings released of the hotel to date show a clean, classical design with plenty of natural light and views of the nearby landscape, including Pikes Peak. There’s also something that it will have that its peers do not: a flight simulator. Three of them, to be precise — and that’s set to make Hotel Polaris the only hotel with such an amenity in the United States.
High country bust leads to "substantial" seizure of $300,000 worth of cocaine in Colorado
A traffic stop for a routine violation led to a "substantial" seizure of more than $300,000 worth of cocaine in Colorado's high country on July 17. According to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, the related traffic stop took place at about 8:00 p.m. last Wednesday on I-70 near Gypsum, which is a town located between Eagle and Glenwood Springs. Once the vehicle was pulled over on the side of the road, the driver, a 24-year-old from Chicago, was contacted by a uniformed deputy. At that point, the deputy noticed several indicators that were believed to have pointed to further criminal activity.

Colorado's Wheat Ridge Police Department saved two animals from a hot camper on a 93-degree day earlier this month after a concerned citizen called for help. According to the police department, their team responded to the report of a dog barking inside of a camper on a hot day around 3:00 p.m. on July 11.
