Snoop Dogg certainly went the extra mile… erm 200 meters while preparing for guest commentator duties at the 2024 Summer Olympics over the weekend.

On Sunday (June 23rd), the 52-year-old rapper participated in a mock race at the US Olympic Team track and field trials in Eugene, Oregon. Going up against the four-time Olympic medalist Ato Bolden and 200-meter specialist Wallace Spearmon, Snoop put in a decent showing, all things considered.

Though Snoop was quickly left in the dust, he finished with a time of 34.44 seconds. For comparison, Usain Bolt ran a 19.30 in 2008 to set the Olympic record.

Still, Snoop was pretty happy with his result. “34.44 for a 52-year-old? Ain’t bad,” he laughed. Watch the clip below.

Snoop will begin providing special reports for the Paris Olympics primetime show on NBC and Peacock beginning on July 26th, and he gave a preview of what to expect by offering commentary on the steeplechase race.

“Oh, he’s jumping on top of the hurdle. You can do that?!” Snoop exclaimed. “That was a cold trick right there. I like that one. Went off the tippy-top.”

Outside of the Olympics, Snoop recently launched his Gin and Juice canned beverage with Dr. Dre. In March, both artists participated in a hilarious skit spoofing Grey’s Anatomy for an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
