    Former Hawkeye James Carter Jr. Earns Eighth at U.S. Olympic Trials

    (Eugene, OR) – Former Iowa track and field star, James Carter Junior, earned eighth-place at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the men’s triple jump.

    Carter jumped a total distance of 16.44 meters totalling out to 53′ 11.25″ overall to mark an eighth-place overall finish. The Wisconsin native is a former second-team All-American while at Iowa and has the third-longest triple jump distance in the University of Iowa Track and Field history. His top jump at Iowa was 52-2 1/2, one of the top jumps in Iowa history.

    The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place between Thursday, August 1st, and Sunday, August 11th for the Track and Field events.
