Jayden Daniels Flabbergasted By Marcus Mariota's Heisman Display At Oregon

After coming off of a Heisman campaign, Jayden Daniels went No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders. The quarterback room in Washington looks incredibly different now, as the front office also signed former Heisman winner, Marcus Mariota. With that said Daniels visited the Oregon campus and couldn't believe the display of Mariota's Heisman trophy.

Daniels shared a video on social media checking out the Oregon Ducks' campus. He found his way to Mariota's Heisman and his jaw essentially dropped on the floor . He even admitted that his school, LSU, doesn't have a setup quite like this. "LSU ain't got nothing like this for me."

The Oregon Ducks certainly don't lack in style. Thanks to Phil Knight and Nike, the University constantly stays up to date with the latest trends. They do a great job of honoring past players on every sports team. Especially those who were highly coveted like Marcus Mariota.

With that said, Mariota won the Heisman back in 2014. Whereas Jayden Daniels won his just last season in 2023. So, maybe LSU has some plans for a trophy display and they just haven't gotten to it yet. But only time will tell if the Tigers' program pulls through and actually builds a display.

So, while LSU potentially figures out where to put Jayden Daniels' Heisman trophy, the star quarterback is busy preparing for his first year in the NFL. He will be the starting quarterback for the Commanders and he has all of the potential in the world of becoming a star in the league.

It was also a smart move by the Commanders to bring in a veteran quarterback like Mariota as well. Although Mariota's NFL career hasn't been nearly as stellar as his college days, he still has the experience necessary to help develop Jayden Daniels. On top of that, they can find common ground with the fact they're both former Heisman Trophy winners.

Daniels finished last season as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. He looked phenomenal for LSU all year long, finishing with 3,812 passing yards, 1,134 rushing yards, 50 total touchdowns, and just four interceptions. For comparisons sake, Marcus Mariota recorded 4,454 passing yards, 770 rushing yards, 57 total touchdowns and four interceptions in his Heisman year at Oregon.

The sky is the limit for Jayden Daniels as he looks every part of being a franchise quarterback. If he can become the quarterback the Commanders envision him to be, then this team should bounce back and become a legitimate playoff contender sooner, rather than later.
