On the Fourth of July, a lot of eyeballs were on five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore. He was expected to announce his commitment with Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, and LSU as the finalists.

After decommitting from LSU, Moore opened his recruitment up and narrowed it down to four schools. In the end, he chose to play for the Oregon Ducks .

However, prior to the official announcement from Moore, college football insider Pete Thamel tweeted that he was headed to play for Dan Lanning and Oregon. Shortly after, the five-star WR took to social media to call out the report by Thamel.

"I [haven't] told anybody [anything] about any school, who is this guy?" Moore wrote on his X page with the screen grab of Thamel's now-deleted tweet.

In another now-deleted post, Thamel reported that Moore would make his decision at 9 PM.

The running for Moore was a popular race. After all, he is the No. 3 overall player in the Class of 2025, according to ESPN's ratings.

Fans were not thrilled with Thamel jumping the gun here, especially for the important announcement for a kid in high school.

Thankfully for Oregon fans, Dakorien Moore did decide to go to Eugene .

But this day will always be overshadowed by Pete Thamel's deleted spoiler post.
