On Saturday, tragic news broke that former Oregon cornerback Khyree Jackson was killed in a car accident overnight. The sports world mourns the loss of Jackson but none more so than Jackson's former coach at the University of Oregon, Dan Lanning.

Lanning shared his goodbye message for Jackson below on X, formerly Twitter, about the passing of Jackson. Jackson spent one season at the university after two seasons at the University of Alabama, but it is clear that Jackson left a deep and lasting impression on Lanning and the Oregon program.

Jackson was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

By all accounts, Jackson touched a great many lives during his college football career. He started at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas before transferring to Alabama and playing under Nick Saban for two seasons.
