Cartersville Home Receives Major Fire Damage
7/23/2024 – At approximately 11:40 a.m. Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services were dispatched to 118 Linda Road S.W, Cartersville to a report of a residential structure fire. The caller advised that the living room was on fire, and everyone was out. BCFES crews arrived on scene to find a one-story, single-family home with fire showing from the front of the structure. Once crews were able to extinguish the fire, a fire investigator was called to the scene. The cause of the fire was deemed accidental. The home received major damage and there were no injuries to report.
Police: Canton Man Dies After He Was Struck by Vehicle
The pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on Reinhardt College Parkway earlier this week has died from his injuries, the Canton Police Department reports. CANTON, Ga. - A man pulled from a fire at a Canton apartment on Friday evening has died. Firefighters just before 6 p.m. rushed to the Blue Ridge Apartments on Tiffany Lane, just south of Reinhardt College Parkway. According to the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services, firefighters pulled a male from the smoke-filled apartment.
Cherokee Sheriff's Office: Fire Truck Hit in Multi-Vehicle Crash
Two people sustained minor injuries after a fire truck was hit by two cars on Interstate 575 in Canton Thursday, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office reports. A Cherokee County fire truck was on its way to a crash on 575 at exit 16 at around 8:07 a.m. Thursday when it was hit by two vehicles, CSO spokesperson Patty Pan said. Pan said two people were transported to a hospital for minor injuries. All northbound lanes of 575 were closed at about 8:15 a.m., for about an hour. It was raining Thursday morning, and Pan said weather is believed to be a factor in the multi-car crash. The crash remains under investigation.
