Texas school board approves 'parenting classes' as discipline option in new student code of conduct
DALLAS — The Dallas Independent School District board of trustees voted to approve a student code of conduct that would give campus leaders and parents the option to send misbehaving children to six-hour "Saturday school" or community service instead of alternative school -- provided their parents also take a three-hour parenting class.

Keller ISD Passes Balanced Budget for 2024–2025 School Year
Keller Independent School District (ISD) has passed a balanced budget for the 2024–2025 school year by a vote of 6 to 0, with a single abstention. The general fund will cost $340 million and will have a narrow $348,000 budget surplus. This is less than the $373 million budget that the district is projected to finish with this year. The debt service fund has a $72.3 million budget, around 28 percent less than 2023–2024; the child nutrition fund has a budget of $13.7 million, 12 percent less than the previous year.
