Watertown man airlifted to the hospital after garage fire and explosion
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Saturday, July 20 the City of Watertown Fire Department was called to 222 East Main Street for a report of an explosion and fire. When firefighters arrived on the scene they discovered a fire in an unattached garage. People at the house reported that someone was still inside the garage.

Pediatric cancer doctor killed after being thrown 30 feet from bike by speeding driver riding in bike lane
A Philadelphia pediatric cancer doctor was killed after she was flung roughly 30 feet in the air when a speeding driver knocked her off her bike, police said. Barbara Ann Friedes, 30, had been cycling in a designated bike lane near Rittenhouse Square when a 68-year-old male driver allegedly plowed into her with his Volkswagen about 7 p.m. Wednesday, 6ABC reported.
