When officers arrived, they found a gray Mazda CX5 on its side in front of a residence following the collision with a white BMW 528.

Police said the man suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. A medical helicopter was requested, but was unable to respond due to weather conditions, according to police.
