To celebrate the 60th anniversary of desegregation in Charlottesville, a local artist made a special exhibit. It’s a photo series by Kori Price called “Walking Dualities.” At the Third Street Box Office, around the corner from the grand marquee of The Paramount in downtown Charlottesville, Kori hung life-size prints that bring the history of segregation into the present.

Popular Black-led run crew marks anniversary
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Black-led run crew called Prolyfyck celebrated its fifth anniversary on Saturday, July 20. Formed in the summer of 2018, Prolyfyck has aimed to diversify running communities, run in historically Black areas and uplift its members through exercise and encouragement. The group sells merchandise, maintains a community resource directory on its website and makes short documentary films with the Brooks running shoe and apparel brand.
