Kevin Durant spoke after Team USA 's win against France to win the gold medal. He was asked by the interviewer whether Stephen Curry 's performance in the final minutes of the game was the greatest heat check of all time. While KD acknowledged he had seen many such performances, the context of this Curry showing may make it the best ever.

"I've seen so many from [Stephen Curry] now, but that was. On this stage, in his first Olympics the world watching, especially after doing what he did in the last game [against Serbia] to follow it up again, that's probably the greatest."

Durant mentioned that he has been on the court with Curry several times before, during their time together with the Warriors. But what Curry was able to do in the gold medal game against France was absolutely incredible. It may be one of the greatest performances in the history of the Olympics.

Curry was sensational in the gold medal game, putting up 24 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, and 2 steals in the win. He made some big shots for Team USA, including the dagger that eventually sealed the win for Team USA in the final seconds of the game. Mike Greenberg called Curry's shot the most memorable shot in basketball history , and it is hard to argue with him on that.

Curry's showing was so incredible that the French commentators even called him the devil at that moment. Curry delivered in a way that few fans would have believed, and it allowed him to win his first-ever gold medal in his career. Curry now becomes one of only four players to win an Olympic gold medal, a FIBA World Cup, an NBA MVP, and an NBA championship.

Stephen Curry's Future In The NBA

With the Olympics now coming to an end, there is a lot of speculation about Stephen Curry's future in the NBA. A few analysts believe that Curry could be on the move in some capacity, specifically to team up with some other icons whom he played with at the Olympics.

One Lakers star thinks that Curry needs to team up with LeBron James for the benefit of both of their careers. Whereas, Kendrick Perkins believes that Curry will either team up with James or reunite with Kevin Durant at some point before he calls time on his career.

With the Warriors failing to land Lauri Markkanen this offseason, their team does lack the star power needed to win an NBA championship, or even reasonably compete for it. Perhaps a change of scenery for Curry could help him expand his personal championship window further. But the Warriors are unlikely to let him go, and it's hard to imagine a team in the NBA that has the adequate package to make a move.

Fans will at least be glad that they got to see Stephen Curry play competitive basketball alongside LeBron James and Kevin Durant at least once in their careers. Even if we never get to see them play together again, this will be an experience fans will never forget.
