Nike held the second annual Mamba League Invitational in Los Angeles last week and fans have fallen in love with the championship trophy the players were competing for. A picture of it recently went viral on social media, and it looks absolutely stunning.

NBA fans on X went crazy as they reacted to it.

One wanted this to be the MVP award.

Another stated this was a "fire" trophy.

One wanted this to be the All-Star Game trophy.

A fan stated Kobe Bryant would have been proud of this trophy.

One stated this was how trophies should be made.

I would agree, that this is how you make a trophy. I certainly would gotten motivated to play even harder if that was the prize awaiting the winner.

Nike, of course, holds this tournament in honor of Bryant on August 23 and 24. The first date is Bryant's birthday while the second is Kobe Bryant Day, on account of his two iconic jersey numbers in the NBA, 8 and 24.

Elite high school athletes showed up for the event, with Bryce James, LeBron James' youngest son, being one of the many big names who were part of it. Some members of the Junior Mambas, once coached by Bryant, were part of the action as well. As for who stood out, Caleb Wilson and Aaliyah Chavez were named MVPs.

Kobe's widow Vanessa Bryant was handing out the trophies, and her three surviving children, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri were present at the event as well. Even Kobe's former agent and current Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka showed up.

It was quite the celebration of basketball, in general, and hopefully, this event will continue to be held for a very long time. I can think of no better way than this to honor Bryant's legacy. The Los Angeles Lakers icon tragically passed away in a helicopter accident in January 2020 along with his daughter Gianna and seven other individuals.
