The Fairborn City Council voted unanimously Monday night to accept a settlement related to the so-called “forever chemicals” linked to numerous health problems.

The settlement with chemical giants 3M and Dupoint comes after PFAS chemicals were found in the Fairfield Park well and Mad River well field several years ago.

In 2022, the city of Fairborn joined dozens of other municipalities in a class-action lawsuit against 32 companies, including 3M and Dupoint.

The city plans to use the settlement money to continue well testing and update treatment processes.
