The effects of an internet outage are being felt across Wisconsin after an update from the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike caused a global tech meltdown. Some Wisconsin state agencies use CrowdStrike software, which left some state employees locked out of their workstations on Friday, a spokesperson for Wisconsin’s Department of Administration wrote in an email.

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 45-year-old Florida man has been charged in Wisconsin for fraudulently selling jewelry as Native American-made. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin, Jose Farinango Muenala from Casselberry, Florida, is charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, and misrepresenting Indian-produced goods.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural resources is investigating a manure spill that took place in Eastern Outagamie County and western Brown County. The spill resulted in a fish kill. Tuesday, the department was notified of manure in Dutchman Creek and then a staffer noticed dead fish in the creek. The source of the manure is unknown but the DNR and county Land Conservation are on scene looking into the issue. The DNR is recommending that people and pets avoid contact with Dutchman Creek. DNR investigating two Wisconsin fish kills that could be the result of heavy rains
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating two separate fish kills discovered recently in south central Wisconsin, and the culprit could be heavy rains. A large group of dead fish was reported to the agency July 10 in Buffalo Lake, which is in Marquette County. The other was on the Yahara River in Stoughton, which links the lakes in and around Madison and eventually drains to the Rock River, then the Mississippi.
