( KRON ) – The Fairfield Police Department's Special Operations Team, Code Enforcement Unit, Patrol and California Department of Cannabis Control collaborated in uncovering three illegal indoor marijuana grows, the Fairfield Police Department announced on social media on Friday.

The California Department of Cannabis Control's Enforcement Division assisted the department in containing 2,624 plants. According to the police, each of the marijuana grows will face municipal code fines for illegal construction, health and safety violations and illegal possession for sales. More than $1,300,000 in fines have been issued, according to Fairfield PD.

Officers found CO2 tanks, hazardous materials, illegal construction, exposed and melting electrical wiring, and unknown chemicals, police said.

Fairfield PD reminds residents that indoor cultivation of marijuana has the potential to cause harm to people and property, including fires, pollution and risk of violent criminal activity.
