For some Iowa orchestras, video game scores may be the key to attracting younger audiences
With a flurry of fingers and bows, 70 musicians spring into a swirling and epic score. As the rippling harp, piercing flute and chanted Latin lyrics from a 50-member chorus ebb, a solo soprano’s voice carries forward, soaring above the audience that has settled quietly in the Urbandale High School auditorium on a late June Sunday afternoon.

Still pleasant tonight, but change is on the way
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Pleasant weather continues tonight as we remain dry and cool. Overnight, our low temperatures drop into the low to mid 50s. Once again, you may want to grab a light jacket if you’re going outside late tonight or early tomorrow morning, but the good news is that you can give your AC a break overnight as we enjoy great sleeping weather with mostly clear skies. Tomorrow is another nice day, as well. There will be a mix of clouds an sun through the day, which helps keep our temperatures cooler than they otherwise would be, in the low to mid 80s. Southerly winds tomorrow will start to bring in warmer and more humid air, as our dew points steadily climb through the day. A stray shower or storm cannot be ruled out Friday night or Saturday, but our best rain chance arrives late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Highs Saturday reach the mid 80s, but we are in the upper 80s and low 90s by Sunday, as the heat firmly establishes itself in our area. We remain hot and muggy for the middle and start of next week as rain chances remain limited.
