Eric Chavers, Ashlee Daniel, and Jeff Wright were elected to the Fairfield ISD school board after the election on Saturday, May 4.

Eric Chavers, Blake Robinson, and Jeff Wright ran for two trustee at large - full term positions. These positions are three year terms.

When all was said and done, Wright and Chavers were elected to the board with 306 and 298 votes respectively. Robinson had 233 votes.

Chavers previously served four terms, which is twelve years, ending in May 2021 on the FISD board. He was asked last summer to complete an unfinished term through this May.

“During this time I had the privilege of working with the current board to select a new superintendent as the leader of our district. After much consideration, I decided to seek an additional term to serve the district,” Chavers said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to serve again with the current members of the board as well as the other newly elected trustees to make our district the best around.”

Wright says that he is excited and humbled to be chosen by the voters of FISD to represent them on the school board. He looks forward to working with the rest of the board and the FISD administration.

“My main goal is to work with the rest of the board as well as the administration to find creative solutions to the problems that FISD faces,” Wright said. “I particularly want to find ways to retain our quality staff and to recruit more to fill our vacancies. Our teachers spend the most time with our students. We must make sure that we attract and retain the best. Our students deserve the best.

Ashlee Daniel defeated Cody Roller 307 votes - 152 votes for a trustee at large unexpired term. This is to serve for a one year term.

Daniel says that she is very excited and looking forward to serving with the other school board members.

“My main goal is to be objective and to support our superintendent so he is able to support the principals, the principals can support the teachers, and the teachers can support our students,” Daniel said. “I believe we all have a joint commitment to student success.”

Chavers, Daniel, and Wright will be joining Kevin Benedict, John Fryer, Kim Whitaker, and Penny Meredith to make up the FISD school board.
