    Thaler, Beaver named FHS Valedictorian, Salutatorian; FHS Graduation Friday night

    Avery Thaler and Lily Beaver have earned the top honors as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Fairfield High School Class of 2024. The Commencement Ceremony for the FHS Class of 2024 will be held on Friday, May 24, at Eagle Stadium at 8 p.m.

    AVERY THALER

    Avery is the daughter of Kevin and Becca Thaler. She is graduating as the Valedictorian with a GPA of 5.68.

    Avery has an older sister, Madison, and two younger brothers, Gavin and Nolan.

    When asked about being Valedictorian, Avery said, “It means so much. I’ve put in so much hard work and it’s so rewarding to see it pay off.” Thaler has always attended Fairfield ISD.

    “I will always be grateful that I got to go to school at Fairfield,” Thaler said. “The staff here is so involved with their students and the community support is unbelievable. I can’t put into words how much I love Fairfield High School.”

    At FHS, Thaler plays volleyball and basketball and competes in track and field. She is also involved in Beta Club, Student Council Parliamentarian, Interact Club, UIL Calculator, UIL Science, and FCA.

    Thaler will be attending Abilene Christian University where she will play volleyball. She plans to major in Biology and Pre-Med to become a Radiologist.

    Avery says a lot of people inspire her in my life, but one in particular is her mom.

    “My mom has shown me how to live my life in a way that glorifies Christ,” Thaler said. “She has sacrificed so much for me to succeed. I love her so much.”

    When asked what advice she would give underclassmen, Avery said, “I would say to enjoy your time in high school. Spend time with your friends and make amazing memories. It goes by so fast so make each moment last.”

    Thaler noted her favorite quote as “Fear is a Liar”.

    “I am so grateful for my time at Fairfield HIgh School,” Thaler said.

    LILY BEAVER

    Lily is the daughter of David and Emily Beaver. She is graduating as Salutatorian with a GPA of 5.36.

    Lily has a younger sister Reese.

    When asked about being Salutatorian, Beaver said, “ It feels amazing because I have worked so hard.”

    Beaver has also attended school at FISD her whole life.

    “Fairfield ISD has the best support system and always puts their kids first,” Beaver said. “Fairfield has been the best place to grow up and go to school because of how much the staff cares.”

    At FHS, Beaver plays varsity volleyball and tennis. She also serves as the varsity cheer Co-Captain and is involved in UIL Extemporaneous Speaking, Beta Club, and FCA. She is also a church nursery worker, VBS volunteer, Home & Garden Show volunteer, and cheer instructor Beaver will be attending Stephen F. Austin State University to major in nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner.

    When asked what advice she would give underclassmen, Lily said, “My advice to underclassmen is to take everything in because it truly goes by so fast. I would also say to give your all in everything you do.”

    Lily says that both of her parents inspire her because of their unwavering support and they have taught her the importance of hard work.

    “I am thankful for my parents and family for pushing me to do my best and supporting me through everything I did,” Beaver said. “I am grateful for my time at Fairfield High School, but am excited to take this next step.”

    ONE MORE TIME

    Both Beaver and Thaler will have one more opportunity to play volleyball together.

    They will suit up for the Blue team at the Victory Bowl volleyball match.

    The Victory Bowl volleyball match will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at University High School in Waco.

    Also suiting up for the Blue team will be Landree Bragg of Teague.
