Everett Borough awards demo bid
EVERETT — Everett Borough Council opened bids for the demolition project of the West 3rd Street apartment building at its Monday night meeting. The council awarded the bid to Shane Beegle for $33,350, pending the final review of the paperwork. As part of the bid, the borough must guarantee access to the building for his equipment.
Shenk burned by high-voltage line
July 9, 1965 — Edward L. Shenk, 31, of Shenandoah, was admitted to the Ridgeley Memorial Hospital Wednesday, June 30, with second and third degree electrical burns received when he came into contact with a high-voltage line while working near Ridgeley, W.Va. He received second and third degree burns on his right arm and on his hand and his back.

Jane E. Detwiler, age 97, a resident at Colonial Courtyard At Bedford, formerly of East Freedom, died Monday evening, July 1, 2024, at the home. She was born November 13, 1927, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late John F. and Vera I. (Gates) Eckman. She married Robert A. Detwiler, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1974.
